"Very nice, the two on the right are the full set, shown here, scroll down. ansmagazine.com/Spring06/Cavell " Actually, on the site it says the 2 poster stamps are from a series of 4. You can see the block of 4 below (about a third of the way down the page). They seem to have been issued in a variety of colours. eastendww1.org/tag/german/These anti-German Propaganda labels were produced by Winox of Richmond, Surrey, UK and exist with 3 different underprints [over the gum]. 4 designs, 3 colours all Black centres with frames in Brown, Slate-Blue or Lilac.

Thanks all for the information about these stamps. Here's the back of the anti-German Propaganda.
The other underprints include the addition of [beneath 'England']:
1]. "for charitable and patriotic purposes" 2]. "entirely for charitable purposes"
A page of 3 sets with one from each set displaying the gummed side would look quite nice methinks.

jimjungCape of Good Hope Cigarette Duty Revenue Act no 12 of 1909 imposed a tax of ½d per ½oz of cigarettes effective from 15 Nov 1909 Measure your Overprint 1¼ mm high 1d = $10 2½mm high 1d = $1 (I think yours) Barefoot Catalogue a2 or a4 respectively.

For the COGH, the overprint seems to be 3mm high. For the back of the anti-German Propaganda, I have two extra copies that had some paper stuck to the back. When you soak them, the ink comes off the back of the stamp and stays on the paper backing. So to get the underprints, I think you'd need Mint copies.

History Mail from Bath, Somerset, to London 115 Miles (184 Km) (Now the M4 Motorway) Guess : Possibly the early route (AD68) by those pesky Romans, coming down from Londinium for the baths. "The Bath Mail"

Last post of todays batch. Amazing, for all the countless 1000's of GB stamps, that have passed my desk, I have never seen that vertical 1960 1/3d stamp before.

Wow. That's a humdinger Zip. A Classic stamp, in all respects. Never sighted Royal Courts of Justice before... you have some amazing material.

Have to get the Vickies mint so I can see what she really looks like without ink all over her face.
Yeah, that Royal Courts of Justice seduced me because I had never seen it before, either.
