One of the group of labels shown by oldpapercollect in a previous post was this one shown below in a block of 4. Information is scant but it is a Magen David Adom Fund-Raising Label from Circa.1950. Inside the Star of David is another Star with other artwork about which I have been trying to find information. Drawn a blank so far but the fun will continue. From my experience, the labels are scarce as the one shown previously was the first one I had seen and then this block appeared on eBay a couple of weeks ago. Some interesting finds during this Coronavirus season !!

Early on in this topic (page 1) I posted a label produced by Cinderella dealer T-Mike stamps. Mike Sartori's stock was sold at auction a while back but I knew nothing about them until it was too late !! Not sure if these were part of it but I was pleased to find these advertising labels, a couple I had never seen before. Above, a block of 10 of the original label (shown on page 1) with both Phone numbers included. Below: The next two sheets, different sized sheets and labels, were possibly produced in connection with a 'Cinderella' event in Sweden. More to look into ! Above: an Imperf block of the original label. Love these surprise finds........ Londonbus1

The Trustee Savings Banks have been around in the UK since 1810. Their assets in 1950 reached One Thousand Million Pounds and to celebrate the event had these Commemorative labels produced. The central Logo/seal has been widely used in this and other forms on signs, money boxes, Bank books, coins and medals to name but a few. The block shown here are perfinned 'SPECIMEN' in an arc.

Lewis Carroll, real name Charles Dodgson. Writer of the famous Children's Stories Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. Studied and taught at Christ Church, Oxford where he lived most of his life. The items below commemorate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Carroll and are the work of Gerald King, famous for his fantasy stamps, many of which can be seen on the Cinderella board .

I love the designs and printing of these, issued for a Philatelic Exhibition held in Budapest, Hungary in October 1951.

I once had dreams of being a cartographer because as a kid I was always looking at maps and when I was out hiking I would sit atop a high hill and discover the surroundings by using my map and compass. But my grades at school were not good enough and I decided not to persist. I don't, nor have I ever collected Map Stamps although I do find them attractive including those shown by hrdoktorx (above). But what caught my eye again took me back to my schooldays. During breaks and some of the library lessons, I liked to read the cartoon books 'The Adventures of Tin Tin' (Belgian if I am not mistaken). The 'Tabs'/'Labels' on the stamps remind me so much of the type of drawings from those Tin Tin books. It caught my eye as soon as the post appeared. Enough from me, I am starting to ramble. I have ten more days at home so had better calm down a bit !!!!

tobben63 .........I understand your feelings but I thought my post answered the question Mark raised. Maybe darkormex can confirm I did ? The bottom line for me , and the more direct answer to Mark's question is I follow everyone on TSF and a few on Facebook. There's nothing wrong with Social media outlets to introduce newcomers to the hobby and as I said in my previous post, I have looked at a few videos but they are not for me, this die-hard Cinderella oddbod !! I would rather gather and learn from the posts and opinions of many than the opinions of one or two. I find the members here far more interesting. I also don't think that the comments have gone off track from the original question. It's a matter of course in a topic like this that side-avenues are explored and I have found the posts very interesting. Londonbus1........with compliments to you all.

The 'missing' packet I mentioned in my previous post has turned up. Just to show what mess the post is in during this Pandemic, 2 packets from same address, one arrives after 6 days and the next day the other arrives after 6 weeks !! I'm not complaining, it's just amusing ! ( I had thoughts of the quick one bumping into the slow one on the way and saying, "Come on mate get a move on "....and so he did !!) Londonbus1

I'm pretty sure that a single stamp like this has been shown before, possibly in another thread as it would fit equally well in South Africa or Patriotic topic. But here it is in the Flags !! I had never seen a full sheet, not that I can recall anyhow, so it was a pleasant surprise to not only find this, but win it. Sadly I had purchased some nice items from the same seller over 6 weeks ago and they never arrived. This one arrived within a few days ! South Africa WWII Patriotic label sheet promoting the Royal Navy and Merchant Navy. Showing the White and Red Ensigns together with the Flag of South Africa which was in use from 1928 to 1994 when they changed to their present offering. I can't think of many better Flags on Cinderellas on just one item !! It was too big for the scanner so this was the best I could do.

cursus..........jealous to read you have been to the Stamp Market. I will get there next time. Glad to hear you are getting some exercise too ! This reminded me that I need to make up a packet for you and am in the process of doing that now. Should be on it's way this week. I need to make up a packet for a mutual friend too, also in Catalonia ! I finished packing and sent all other packets owed. I have almost finished my Newsletter article which will be sent to the editor later today. Then a nice item arrived which I will scan, but sadly some others have gone missing I fear due to the Postal disruptions. Pity. One day I can start organizing my own collection.......but first it's those Giveaways which end later this week !! Must get them ready. Thanks for all the entries and bids. A few lucky folk are going to get some nice stamps ! Londonbus1

I spend most of my time online here, checking sport or researching. With everything that is going on in the world during the Pandemic, rioting (er, sorry....peaceful protesting), Political turmoils etc it's best to keep as far away as possible from all such outlets. sticking to stamps is the best way I use Facebook for some stamp groups and to keep in touch with friends 'back home'. Some of the stamp groups have very knowledgeable folk. I also buy and sell on occasion. I joined Twitter for a day and that was enough. Instagram........the ladies in my family say it's for them and when I joined I found out why. I never read blogs. I have seen a few videos on YouTube and elsewhere but it's not something I'd get serious with. I guess I just prefer to read what you lot have to say. How did I do ? Londonbus1

Beryllium Guy......many thanks for the link but I have found out just now that all KGV definitive stamps were printed in sheets of 240, 2 panes of 120 (12x10) so there lies the answer to the question. If the varieties are both on the last vertical row (Column) then my stamp does NOT have a listed short fraction bar. Oh well, it was fun checking !! Thanks....... (Anyway, no matter what the outcome, the stamp will be on it's way to pastures new tomorrow)

Beryllium Guy.......I have noticed this and that's why I am trying to find out how many vertical rows there are on a KGV GB sheet. If there are 12, which I suspect there are, then the answer is done. I cannot find an image of a whole sheet anywhere........most odd.

A query regarding the item shown below. 1921 Royal Cypher Watermark issue. But is the left stamp an example of the 'Short Fraction Bar ' ? It is much shorter than the bar on the right stamp but is it short enough ? I could answer the question myself if I knew of the sheet size of such British Stamps, but my searches have drawn a blank thus far. So if there are any KGV Great Britain experts in the house..........What is the sheet size of the Royal Cypher issues ? Thanks in advance.

I have been struggling with a number of issues here including the weather and time for stamps has been extremely limited. My apologies to vikingeck and madbaker for the late departure of their 'Zoom Giveaway' prizes. This was due in large part because of the erratic postal services but also because of the aforementioned limited time. I have made those packets up for completion tomorrow and posting Monday. All packets won on my sales list are on their way to other parts of the world. Please be patient in these Corona-infested months, the mails are slow but hopefully all will arrive safely in the end. A few, albeit very few, joyous moments have taken place with the arrival of some almost-forgotten auction winnings that have taken between weeks and months to arrive. So scanning is next on the agenda to bore you all with those Cinderellas !! Then it's onto the completion of the Newsletter article which was started during the early Covid times ! All I need is cooler weather, less work and shorter visits from the Grandchildren ! It will come. Londonbus1
