There are far more giveaways than sales here -- perhaps an indication of the membership's generous nature.

...I am old school, and cut my teeth on "Newsgroups" where data usage was always at a premium. I freak out when I see a huge quote (with images) and the reply is a one liner "Yeah nice one Felix!" that sort of thing I wonder who is paying for that ? Perhaps the moderators can chime in, if it's OK I shall happily replicate... Data usage on this Forum is not a concern as images are hosted on external servers. Any quote replicating the image is just including the link to that image on the server where it is hosted. I, too, cringe when I see unedited quotes being used to reply to a post in a thread. Tagging the individual, rather than using the quote function, is more considerate of the membership.

Stamper49 I just clicked on the link that you provided and it takes me to the below portion of the Forum -- if you aren't seeing this then I must assume that the problem is on your end. Are you able to post an image of what you are seeing on your desktop?

Stamper49 , All members are allowed to view the Buy, Sell and Trade category; however, only those who have met the full membership criteria are able to participate in that area by either creating threads or posting on threads. The category is not visible to Guests or to those members who have not signed in to their accounts.

When I completed the survey, in the questions that didn't apply, I selected "Other" and commented that I collected stamps and not stamp-inspired merchandise.
I agree that the design is poor and is intended to determine what types of merchandise they can focus on pushing.
Edit: I also left items blank that weren't applicable and simply selected "Next."

The membership has spoken and a donation will be made.
Should anyone who has previously donated to the Forum object, send me a PM and I'll refund your donation.

For some reason, I can't add images anymore. Has something changed on the Forum? You have been using imgbb.com to host your images (the Add image to post button). That is not a Forum host so I can't provide an answer as to why you can't post images now. Perhaps they are having problems on their end.

philatelia, Sadly, posts that add no value are just something to which I've grown accustomed.

neilmac , You are certainly not alone in this regard. Before you click on "Create post" look in the Preview tab to see if your reply is in or out of the quote. If the former, switch to the BBCode tab, then cut your reply and paste it outside of the quote box. Switch back to the Preview tab and if all looks good, create the post.

It has become apparent, at least to me, that there is no "correct" answer to the question of how a collector should organize his or her collection.

I was recently contacted by an individual seeking information on some stamps that she had acquired. If you are able to provide pertinent information, please post on this thread.

This just arrived in my email from Australia Post: Perth Stamp and Coin ShowAustralia Post will be at this event on Friday 8 March to Sunday 10 March 2024. Come and say hello to the team. We'll have a wide range of products for collectors, including PNCs and collectables you may have missed. A feature will be the show-only products only available to those attending. You can read the February 2024 issue of Australia Post collectables here. Perhaps we can get one of our Australian members to do a show write-up for a future Newsletter issue.

darkormex, StampEd describes itself as a "free digital magazine" and encourages individuals to sign up to receive future issues so I think it safe to share.

aram528 , If you copied and then pasted your information from another source then the images would not be recognized by the ProBoards software. You can edit your original post and insert the missing images using one of the methods described here.

Google's image search can be a very useful stamp collecting tool.

I wouldn't spend that amount of money unless the item had been certified genuine. If you are interested in acquiring it, why not contact the seller to see if he will refund the purchase price and pay the expertization fee if the pair isn't deemed genuine.

The text regarding the imperf 3d beaver is stating that it is Unitrade (Scott) 4d (1852, thin paper, orange red).

To the best of my knowledge, the revised catalog has been "in work" for the past several years with no indication as to when it may be ready for distribution. To rod222 's question regarding the overprint on the $1 ST104, these colorblind eyes think it is green.

Ryan and ameis33 , Thanks for highlighting the issue. I've passed it to the Proboards support team. We likely won't receive a response until Monday at the earliest.

To remind, once again:Please ensure that your posts are respectful of others. We strive to maintain forum behavior that is in keeping with good taste and propriety. Should you have a problem with something that someone has posted, rather than publicly lambasting or ridiculing them, use the "report post" function to bring the post(s) to the attention of forum staff and let us deal with the matter. Any posts that are in violation of forum rules or decorum will be deleted by staff and repeat offenders risk a loss of forum privileges. Sadly, I find it necessary to again remind the membership of the above.

I have removed renden's last post in this thread as it was totally uncalled for and not in keeping with the decorum expected of a member of this Forum.
